Overpriced because of how much money they lost on concord.
I truly believe it was meant to be priced lower but burning 400 million on concord changed that
I haven't seen any reviewers or tech ppl I watch saying anything remotely good about it
Also glad you found us here broski🟩 31Comment

seems pretty good, but I’m still torn on getting it and dropping Xbox, vs dropping both consoles and just doing a 5090 pc build, and Switch 2.
i like 120fps, and dldsr rendering higher than native 4K, then outputting at 4k would give amazing image quality
Plus the ability to just max out everything (dldsr 2.25x down to 4k at 120fps) for older games
thanks boyo

Just going to stick with my launch PS5. Might go PC + Nintendo only starting next gen since there's just so few of the kinds of games I enjoy coming out of Sony and MS these days and they'll probably all be available on PC in the future.Comment

Meh.
It's good but not even RTX 3070 level I don't think. And RTX 50 series is coming out fairly soon smh.
If you have a PS4 Pro or older, it'll feel like a huge upgrade. But I'm betting a used "regular" PS5 will be the best $ : performance deal out there.Comment

Pro versions are retarded. Save your money, new generation consoles are just over 2 years away.See Krackerjacked's sig👍 1Comment

and not really a point in getting next gen Xbox with the way their current gen is selling, and them seemingly putting every game on PlayStation in the futureComment

I'm currently on Series X. Wouldn't mind switching back to PS for PS6, the biggest deterrent would be losing my progress in the games I play the most, as well as losing the games that I outright purchased on Xbox. Some are multiplayer so switching to PS would mean I would have to stay on SX for those games and pay for online for both systems.See Krackerjacked's sigComment

Nah PS6 will come out in 2026 or very early 2027. They won't let 2 years of a new Xbox pass before releasing their own console.

Nah I think it will. Competition is a big factor but not the only factor. Game devs are already pissed at having to develop for the Series S. When the new Xbox comes out if PS6 isn't close behind it will prolong the period that devs feel compelled to make games on both new gen and old gen.See Krackerjacked's sigComment

Yeah I had originally ordered an Alienware pre-built and returned it after hearing about the Intel cpus.Comment

Latest Bios update was released in August and I downloaded that, used all the built in Intel safeguard settings, and even set a Vcore limit in the bios, but voltage values when running benchmarks saw minimal change. Temps are still under control for the most part but not really sure what to do going forward. Most of the games I play on PC currently aren't super demanding (PVZ Garden Warfare 2, WWE 2k24, Timberborn, Super Mega Baseball 3/4, Madden 25) so it may not be as big of an issue for me, but I still worry about it.See Krackerjacked's sigComment

Intel extended the warranty duration for affected CPUs by a year or two (but believe you have to have purchased the CPU from intel directly for that extension iirc).Comment

Devs won’t be clambering to develop solely for a 2026 “next gen” Xbox, when current gen Xbox is selling even worse than last gen (which was a worse “sell” than series s and x imo).
Xbox as a console is bleeding out, no reason to think that will stop, especially with them putting their first party on PlayStation lolComment

There will be a long cross gen period either way. Games are too expensive to make for their not to be big cross gen periods.

Feels like Microsoft are gambling on Xbox Gamepass being their golden goose and are shifting away from physical consoles in favour of better game streaming infrastructure. Played Xbox games on a Smart TV only and was genuinely impressed. I won't be surprised if consoles end up being seen like a half-way house to PCs in the future, where only a small percentage of peole will have actual devices to play games because they want more power/graphical fidelity while 90% of people are happy streaming to their TVs🟩 1Comment

Seems to depend on whether the bios update was applied before any damage is sustained. The “good” thing is that if there is any issue it seems like they tend to be pretty obvious. If your CPU is still getting consistent benchmark scores and controlled temps then I wouldn’t bother worrying about it as long as the patch was applied.

I would never do solely streaming games for one my internet isn't strong enough, and two multiplayer shooters aren't going to be good on that. Of course once the multiplayer shooter games I currently play have their servers shut down I may not have a game like that that I want to play. I don't really have an interest in anything that's come out recently or that's likely to come out in the future. The only thing I could see being interested in is if they actually turn the Battlefield franchise around, or if that Delta Force game ends up actually being good. New Halo probably won't be good, and CODs are too fast paced and twitchy for my liking. XDefiant had my attention for a while and it has better map design than most shooters out now but gameplay was still just meh to me.See Krackerjacked's sigComment

Good news is I haven't had any stability issues yet so most people are saying those should have showed up by now. I'm considering buying an i9 12900kf and putting it in this PC and then just selling the i7 14700kf on ebay. After Ebay fees I would come out about even and the performance would be slightly less but comparable.

I don't even play any new gen games. Literally no point in upgrading if they don't release any games I want to playComment

Any recommendations on thermal paste? I've never done any PC building or swapping before, other than swapping HDDs, SSDs, nvmes, and installing more RAM. I ordered Noctua NT-H1 after reading some shit on Tom's Hardware. My friend told me the CPU installation process isn't that bad. I'll either have him help me with it or just watch a bunch of Youtube videos. I've uninstalled one to resell it from a non-working PC before, so I know about being gentle about the pins and whatnot, just not the specifics regarding the paste, how much to put on, how long it needs to set, resetting the cooler, et cetera.See Krackerjacked's sigComment

Noctua is a very well regarded company so I assume they have quality paste.Last edited by rollerball; 10-12-2024, 08:55 PM.🟩 1Comment

Yeah I was just talking about the paste. I'm keeping the AIO cooler that came with the PC. It was rated highly on Tom's Hardware, so I just went with that one.See Krackerjacked's sigComment
