Costa Rica. Went on a vacation there in 2019 and loved it. I think you can own firearms and they do have paved roads so you can daily a sports car.

It would take more than $1 million, but I'd likely move to where my wife is from near the coast of Colombia.

There's not a lot to do besides play billiards, drink, and hang out with locals. They do have high speed internet though.

Honestly if it weren't for the danger of paramilitary/guerillas, small towns in Colombia would be a pretty great place to live. They don't have the crime problems of the cities because everyone knows fooking everyone.

Yeah, I've spent a lot of time in Colombia and it's a really special place to me. Super high quality of life if you have some money. Crime is very much overstated, and definitely not happening in small towns.

Asia does not have a lot of places for long term visas. Other places are just as expensive as the US.
