I listen to maybe 45 minutes of astrophysicists speaking per day. Absolutely love it and I know quite a bit. If I wasn't in tech, I'd be in astrophysics I think.
The most interesting things to me:
1. Whether or not the universe is infinite. We're nearly certain it's bigger than the observable universe (due to expansion faster than light), and there's no reason to assume it stops. It either wraps onto itself, or is infinite. We haven't detected even the slightest curve.
2. Nobody has the slightest clue how the BB happened.
3. Many-worlds theory (quantum physics, particles behaving differently upon observation, this might suggest the act of observing "snaps" a reality into place, meaning there are nearly infinite universes that are different based on which one you snap into and observe)Comment
