Well, no. The issue is that he didn’t. He used Forumotion to set up a free one in 30 seconds, but they provide no way to upgrade and completely own the database and everything else. The plan was always to migrate to a new forum.

I can believe that MM might have been wanting to do it himself, and simply conceded after lockdev said he was knowledgeable and already prepared to do it.
