Movies watched:
10/1: The Hook of Woodland Heights (1990)
-A fun little 40 minute short film. A couple good practical effects. (5.5/10)
10/2: Footprints on the Moon (1975)
-Less a horror film and more of a mystery, and a beautifully shot one at that. Not the gore-fest that stylizes or glorifies murder as you might expect of an Italian film of this era. But there is enough mystery to hold the attention and more than a touch of the surreal. (6.8/10)Last edited by Mr.PissShivers; 10-02-2024, 07:56 PM.👍 3Comment

A friend of mine is watching Lady Frankenstein (1971) tonight. Have you seen it? I'm getting ready to go to bed so I just skimmed some information about it since I'm going to bed shortly. I think it only had 20% on rotten tomatoes. Also, it's italian? I'm guessing they speak English in it though.👍 1Comment

If you want real OG shit you could add in the Universal monster movies, but that might not appeal of younger people.👍 1Comment

i'm pretty covered on the mainstream horror flicks, was hoping for some insight into some more obscure horror films that are worth watchingComment

You could begin to explore Italian horror if you haven't already...The films of Lucio Fulci and Dario Argento to start.
Many people love the Phantasm franchise which is a tiny bit lesser known.
We can get pretty obscure, but obscure film are often obscure because they stray from the common audience's taste. Ultimately you have to be willing to watch films you end up hating to find the weird stuff you like.Last edited by Mr.PissShivers; 10-02-2024, 10:59 PM.👍 2Comment

10/3: Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (1973)
This is a creepy and perverted movie about a teenage girl beset on all sides by men and monsters who want to kill her, rape her or claim her soul. Its a good looking and unsettling, fairy tale-ish film, and I would call it a hidden gem of the 70's.
trailer:
full movie
A young girl who returns to her hometown to see her dying father finds herself being drawn into a web of vampirism and witchcraft.

Do you not use an ad blocker? I don't usually see youtube ads on my android or computer. I'm just mentioning it in case you weren't aware of the available blocking methods.👍 1Comment

I work some weekends and have caught a few movies on my phone. Not ideal, but it's nice when I have the downtime to be able to do that anyway.👍 1Comment

Yeah, same for me. I just don't get a whole lot of time with the actual TV because I only have two TVs but I also have a lot of kids so they dominate the TVs.
