The Wicker Man 1973. I love this movie so much! Christopher Lee...I don't need to say anything more.

10/14: House II: The Second Story (1987)
I'm tempted to give this a 10 based of the title alone, its the best name for a sequel I've ever heard in my whole entire life. And just like the first House, it is a fun movie as well. I never finished it the first time I tried watching it, glad I went back to it.

Freddy vs Jason 2003. The last time I watched this was when it came out at the movies. So much fun to see it again.

I saw 'I Spit on Your Grave II' and 'Girl Next Door (2007)'. Not sure if the latter movie is really 'horror' it does very much have horror elements though.Former username on old misc was 'maori-rap'👍 3Comment

I saw August Underground and the sequel AU Mordum last night to see what they were actually like. Just...horrible. Would not ever watch again.Former username on old misc was 'maori-rap'👍 2Comment

I have the uncut 'Beginning' on DVD. I quite like that movie. I like the grindhouse feel and of course the legendary R Lee Ermey as the sadistic "Sheriff". Crazy levels of gore for those that are into that type of horror.Former username on old misc was 'maori-rap'👍 2Comment

10/18: Hollywood Ghost Stories (1986)
This is a documentary I came across that goes over some of the hauntings that have taken place over the years in Hollywood and during the production of movies like The Exorcist. It devolved into a clip show after awhile which takes some points away.

The Sadness
Very intense movie as soon as the horror kicks in. I knew how brutal and gory it was, so was not shook.Former username on old misc was 'maori-rap'👍 1Comment

10/23: Attack of the Mushroom People (1963)
This is just like that one episode of Gilligan's Island where everyone eats mushrooms then turns into fungus people.
"Little Buddy," said the Skipper, "I ate some mushrooms and now I'm turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so." That episode never got released for some reason.

10/23: Four Flies on Grey Velvet (1971)
Technically I have seen this, but the version I was was so poor that I was necessary to watch it again. And it was worth it. Based on the version I saw before I would have called this a lesser Argento, but its not. Its terrific any way you cut it.

10/25: Zombi 2 (1979)
An all time favorite of mine, and truth be told this is actually the 4th time I've watched this film since June. Fulci has the ability to create an atmosphere of dread that's actually pleasant to sit and stew in. Fulci in combination with Fabio Frizzi's legendary score creates here a near perfect mood of inescapable terror.

I saw 'We need to talk about Kevin' last night as I had heard it was a 'good' disturbing movie. Not bad at all. Tilda Swinton is a brilliant actress and plays the troubled mother so well IMO.Former username on old misc was 'maori-rap'👍 1Comment

They're are a few of Fulci's movies that are worth watching, Zombi 2 aside, City of the Living Dead, The Beyond, House by the Cemetery and The New York Ripper. In fact many hold those movies over Zombi 2.
And I have to preface that these movies are surrealist nightmare films and logic, plot and reason hold little importance generally. You watch them for the atmosphere and mood (and gore) they create over plot construction. So keep that in mind if things get incoherent. Because of this his movies aren't for everybody.👍 2Comment

I saw 'Murder Set Pieces' last night. A very extreme movie in which a muscular Neo-Nazi dude brutalizes and murders woman. Overall poor acting but the movie does feature Tony Todd and Gunnar Hansen (Leatherface) as a cool bonus.Former username on old misc was 'maori-rap'👍 2Comment
