IDK people in the Rocky mountains and Alaska respect grizzly/brown bears. It's always people from out east that want to pet them. I think a big part of it is ignorance. I grew up in Wyoming and knew you need at least a shotgun loaded with slugs in griz country. Sometimes people get lucky with magnums or 10mm. But just a couple weeks ago some 20 year old got mauled while his friend shot the griz from point blank. It took 2 magazines and 24 rounds to stop it with 10mm

The amount of people who try to feed and pet bears in the Smokey mountains is retarded. Bears have became smart enough to know when the trash gets full at air BNBs here, even directly in Pigeon forge. You then have retards who try to feed them or pet them themselves and get mauled, ending in the bear getting put down.
