I’m interested in getting my CDL. How do you guys like it, how do I get it and what’s the average salary’s. I’m topped out around $55K doing what I’ve been doing for 20 years, (Mechanical cad drafting/design) Thanks.

I did it for a couple years. The good is that as long as you have a good driving record and can maintain that, you can find a job that pays well for not that much training. If you go OTR, you can basically live in the truck where your only real bill will be your cell phone. Per Deim tax writeoffs. If you just stay out, you can start making some money. It's a question if you can live that lifestyle?
